Must-Haves
To store your materials online, so you can access them on any computer, try Dropbox! It's free!
My favorite therapy game is Pop-Up Pirate. It has 24 swords, which means up to 24 opportunities for data collection... or more if you require the child to produce his sound 5 times for each sword (or read 5 sight words, answer 5 comprehension questions, recall 5 details, etc.). It's good for groups since there are 4 different sword colors.
Flippin' Frogs also allows for a LOT of data collection! There are 24 frogs in 4 colors so it can also be used for groups. After the child earns all of the frogs, we turn on the rotating tree and see how many of them stay on the tree when it flips up.
Another fun game that allows for several trials per turn is Honey Bee Tree.
An obvious must-have is a good laminator. I like my Scotch Laminator more than the professional one at my clinic! I buy 5mm laminating pouches rather than 3mm as they are thicker and more durable.
Everyone needs some Play-Doh, markers, crayons, twistable colored pencils (no more sharpening!), and bubbles!
Great list of must-haves! We must think alike as I have all of these too!

Great list!! Have you heard of a product called Copy? It's similar to Dropbox, but for EACH referral, you get 5 GB FREE!!!! I know I can't live without my free GB referrals!
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard of it but I will check it out right now!!! That's quite a bit of free space!
DeleteI love your site! I am curious if you have any fresh/cute ideas for sequencing 3-5 pictures for to a story. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLoving your silly sentences and so do my kids. Have you done anything with syntax, I have a hearing impaired child and I am always looking for eye catching activities - Sandi NC
ReplyDeleteMs. Lane - I hope you get credit through Amazon if we purchase an item - I purchased the laminator and film and love it so much - now I can do what I need to do when I have the time to do it since I have it setup in my therapy room. NOW if I could just find a printer LOL (seems our school printer is always in the hospital) Happy Easter Sandi NC PS I am a FB friend too.

DeleteThank you! Thank you! Thank you! I searched the Internet tirelessly looking for materials for my developmentally delayed grandson...and was unable to find the materials I needed. I am a high school educator, but I had no idea where to start to help my grandson. THEN, I found your site! How wonderful you are to provide these materials for others to use. I love them...and his PreK teacher loves them, too. I hope my small donations helps you, OR at least keeps you in decaf for a week. God bless you for being so generous.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you found me and thank you again for your very generous donation!! ~Ms. Lane
DeleteThank you for all your wonderful resources! They are fantastic. I hope my donation helps in some small way to keep this site and your creative resources going! I am looking forward to set 3 of the regular plurals noun flashcards :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!! I have been so busy with my baby and another one on the way that I have been neglecting my role as "Ms. Lane" in order to be Mom for awhile. I hope to get back into the swing of things soon!!!
DeleteHi Lane, would you be willing to mention slpreviews.com on your blog? In case you didn't see my previous post it's a forum for SLP's to review products- tests, materials, books, games, apps, etc. No subscriptions, no ads, no profit for me. I just think it could be a great resource if people know about it and use it! And of course, please post your reviews, and suggest more products to be listed (form on the website). Joe Rothstein
ReplyDeleteHi Ms. Lane! I'm a CF in the public schools. Thank you so much for your service to the profession! Some of my must-haves include the game, "Poppa's Pizza Pile Up" by International Playthings and "Log Jam" by Ravensburger, both of which allow for many reps and are great for small group instruction. -Samantha, MO/Montreal, QC
